Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya divorced in October 2021 after four years of marriage. ChaySam fans were first saddened by the news, and shortly after, rumors began to circulate targeting Samantha as the reason for the breakup.

Even though the duo had not publicly discussed their split, Samantha recently opened up in an interview with Filmfare.

At first, Samantha felt that after the divorce, she would 'crumble and die'. The actress admitted that she was blown away by her own strength in the months leading up to and after the divorce.

Samantha stated that accepting the situation is half the battle won. She went on to say that if people refuse to accept their circumstances or come to terms with them, it becomes a never-ending struggle. The actress has matured and demonstrated how acceptance is the first step in overcoming a challenge.

Samantha is also quite proud of the person she has become because she was previously ignorant of this aspect of herself. The actress told Filmfare, "I didn't think I was capable of being this strong."

Talking about the hate and trolls she received post-announcement of the separation, Samantha admitted that she was extremely hurt.

“A divorce in itself is an extremely painful process. Let alone allowing me the time to heal. This attack on me personally, has been relentless.”

She pledged, though, that nothing would be able to break her. The actress stated that she has no plans or expectations for the year 2022 with everything that had occurred in her personal life this year.

“All my carefully laid plans have crumbled. I have no expectations, I am open to whatever the future has in store for me. I just know that I will give it my very best,” she said.
