Soon after, word of their romance spread, and the pair were spotted taking trips and celebrating festivals and birthdays together. When questioned about marriage, Vignesh said in an earlier interview that the couple is not in a rush and wants to fulfill their personal goals before moving further in their relationship.
Staying true to his words, the pair is now formally married in the presence of family and friends after the release and success of their second film together, 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kathal.'

The A-list celebrities at the grand wedding include Thalaivar Rajinikanth, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, celebrity couple Suriya and Jyothika, Malayalam star Dileep, Karthi, Vikram Prabhu, as well as directors Jayam Raja, Mani Ratnam, Gautham Menon, and KS Ravikumar.
According to sources, Superstar Rajinikanth presided over the wedding by handing the 'thali' to Vignesh Shivan. Actor Ajith (together as his family) were also sighted attending the wedding to congratulate the newlyweds.
