When she first entered the film industry, Shruti Hassan was not just Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan's daughter, but a multi-talented star who can act, sing, dance and be a style icon.

She was flying high in Kollywood and Tollywood with multiple films offers. She even starred in several Hindi films. However, things went downhill for the actress two years ago as she was trolled online for her looks, acting, and weight gain. Her last known film released in 2017.

It was a difficult phase for the actress and the fact that she was combating some health issues made it even worst. Talking about the critical period in her life to Deccan Chronicle, Shruti admitted that she didn't give time for herself for over a decade and those trolls deeply affected her at that point.

With mr.pachaiappa the most adorable man in rajapalayam :) he’s a farmer from the rice fields and was enjoying a chill evening till we showed up to shoot, but he seemed quite pleased either way :)

“Honestly, I have not been mocked down recently, but there are a lot of people who say ‘oh she is getting married’, ‘she has become fat’, all of this. At that point, it really hurts, because I knew I had health issues. I knew that I have never ever taken enough time in 10 years to take care of myself, and every human being deserves that. I needed some love and silence and self-introspection to really be me,” she explained.

Ever since the debacle, she has grown into a stronger human being. “I have got a lot of criticism and it doesn’t bother me anymore,” Shruti added.

Excited to start a new film with one of my favourite actors ! Such a lovely team ? positive, progressive and fun !!
