Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, also known as KK, reportedly died of cardiac arrest after his concert at Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha yesterday. He was 53 years old.

He complained of chest pain after returning to the hotel from his performance, which lasted from 7 to 9 p.m., and was rushed to CMRI Hospital. However, the singer was declared dead upon arriving at the hospital, just 5 kilometers away.

Celebrities and KK's fans are grieving the singer's untimely passing on social media. The singer is survived by his wife Jyothy and their two children, son Nakul Krishna Kunnath and daughter Tamara Kunnath.

KK has sung in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, and Gujarati, among other languages.

The singer has worked with famous composers like AR Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Deva, and Harris Jayaraj, to mention a few. 'Uyirin Uyire' from Kaakha Kaakha and 'Ninaithu Ninathu' from 7G Rainbow Colony were some of his successful Tamil songs.
