Paravai Muniyamma is a famous artiste cum singer, who shot to fame after singing and starring in Vikram's Dhool.

She was honoured with the prestigious Kalaimamani award from the state government for her immense contribution to folk music.

Since then, the singer has played several roles alongside popular comedian Vivek, and later she even hosted a cooking show.

Later on, when the singer started facing health complications due to her old age, the now late Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa granted Rs6 lakhs fixed deposit and a monthly allowance of Rs6,000 for Muniyamma's expenditure.

But Muniyamma requested the government to continue giving the stipend to her disabled son after her death. Today, the singer dies at the age of 83.

Deepest condolence to the singer's family, friends, and fans. May her soul rest in peace.
