It is indeed exciting news for fans of two of the most iconic legends of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, who are reportedly set to reunite on the silver screen after 32 years for an upcoming film titled "Thalaivar170." The film is directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions.

While an official confirmation is awaited, Bachchan is said to be considered for a key role in the movie.

The last time Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan shared the screen was in the 1991 film "Hum." Prior to that, they had worked together in successful films like "Andha Kanoon," "Geraftaar," and "Kochadaiyaan." Their on-screen collaborations have been highly anticipated and well-received by audiences.

"Thalaivar170" is reportedly based on a true incident and features Rajinikanth in the role of a cop. The film is expected to go on floors soon, with a targeted release at the end of 2024. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music for the movie.

In addition to "Thalaivar170," Rajinikanth has another film titled "Jailer" directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, which is set for release during the Vinayaka Chaturthi Festival in August. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, and others in key roles.
