Thala Ajith and Thalapathy Vijay are often portrayed as rivals by their fans and the media. Their diehard fans go to great lenths on social media to prove the superiority of the stars over the other using memes and trending hashtags on Twitter.

Even during their film releases, fans would celebrate the occasion like a grand festival to show their love and devotion for the stars. Many of their films are highly anticipated and become blockbuster hits.

But did you know, there was a film rejected by Vijay and landed with Ajith eventually turned into a commercial hit?

According to some sources, the dual role in 2004 action drama 'Attahasam' directed by Saran was first offered to actor Vijay. However, Ilayathalapathy rejected the film and Saran went on to cast Ajith.

The film also starred Pooja, Karunas, Sujatha and Ramesh Khanna. The Deepavali release film first faced some troubles because of the constant shower of rain, however still managed to cash in money because of Ajith's oyal fanbase who wanted to see their star on-screen.
