On Feb 19, a major accident on the set of Kamal Haasan's "Indian 2" in Chennai, claimed three lives, and injured nine others.

A crane collapsed on the tent where some of the film crew were standing with camera monitors.

The deceased were identified as Krishna (34), an assistant director, and food providers Madhu (29), and Chandran (60). Kamal expressed his condolences to the families through a tweet after the tragic accident.

However, a recent incident has made Bigg Boss Kasthuri question Kamal Haasan's leadership in his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam.

The actor was called in by the central crime branch police for an enquiry over the incident. Soon afterwards, the state secretary of Makkal Needhi Maiam released a press release expressing outrage over Kamal's interrogatiom that lasted 3 hours.

They condemned the intention of the Tamil Nadu state government in investigating Ulaganayagan when he was not even present at the shooting spot during the accident.

Bigg Boss Kasthuri criticised the press release, calling it insensitive.

"Three innocent lives have been lost, and the police are duty bound to question eye witnesses. So it was three hours. Is that a big deal for Mr. Kamal?" she questioned.
