It's safe to say that Ajith Kumar's 'Valimai' has been the most-anticipated film since the beginning of the pandemic. Directed by H. Vinoth, who's known for his films Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Nerkonda Paarvai, Valimai was originally slated to be released on 13th January.

However, the Tamil Nadu state government has implemented night curfews and lockdowns on Sundays to curb the tide of Omicron variant Covid-19 cases.

Additionally, in many Indian states, theatres have been mandated to have a maximum capacity of 50%. This puts the release of Valimai in jeopardy, and the producers have now confirmed that the film will not be released on January 13th.
