Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Weighs In: Should Couples Be Financially Ready Before Having Kids?

Having children is a personal choice, but is being financially prepared something couples should think about before starting a family? Actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar seems to think so, and her recent comments on parenthood have sparked a discussion online.

During an interview with host Prema, Varalaxmi shared her thoughts on couples having children without fully considering the financial responsibilities that come with raising them. Actor Priyamani, who was also part of the conversation, agreed with her perspective.

Varalaxmi pointed out that conversations about sex, family planning and responsible parenthood are still limited in society, despite the growing population. She also questioned why some couples choose to have children without thinking about whether they are financially ready to support them.

The actor clarified that she is not against having children. Instead, she believes couples should take time to consider their circumstances before making such a major life decision, especially with the rising cost of living.

Varalaxmi also highlighted that having children should not be something people feel pressured into simply because it is expected of them after marriage.

“Before having a child, you should ask yourself whether you are ready to take complete responsibility for raising that child,” she explained.

She added that if someone does not feel ready to take on that responsibility, choosing not to have children can also be a responsible decision.
