An unexpected piece of news from the makers!

With Sri Venkateswara Creations confirming the much-anticipated film ‘Varisu’ is set to release worldwide during Pongal, and now both prominent Kollywood stars’ movies will clash at the Box Office after EIGHT years.


With Red Giant bagging the theatrical rights for Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu, the film will also have its release during Pongal.

It has been eight years since the last clash happened in 2014, when Vijay’s Jilla and Ajith’s Veeram were released on January 10. Ajith emerged as the winner, and now we couldn’t wait for the 2nd round of the streak.

What an epic Pongal clashes!

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Touted to be an ideal family-friendly entertainment, Varisu will see Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead role along with Yogi Babu, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Jayasudha, Khushbu, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Karthick, Prakash Raj, S.J. Suryah, and Prakash Raj in prominent roles.

Meanwhile, Ajith’s Thunivu revolves around a mysterious mastermind, and his team forms a plan and commits bank heists across Chennai, but their motive for the heists remains mysterious.

Even though the official date is yet to be announced, we could expect that both movies will have their releases during Pongal week.
