Famous comedian and TV star Vadivel Balaji passed away today (10 Sept) at a government hospital at the age of 45. His sudden demise has shocked his fans and the TV industry.

The comedian shot to fame after he participated in Vijay TV's 'Kalakka Povathu Yaaru'. He hosted several comedy shows on the channel and he's well-versed in making Vadivelu-style comedies. He also acted in a few Kollywood films in comic roles.

Just a few weeks back, he was admitted into a private hospital in Chennai after having a heart attack. Unable to manage the bills, he was transferred to different hospitals before coming to a government hospital in the morning today.

Balaji is survived by his wife, son and daughter. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends.
