The Behindwood's Gold Icon Award, an annual award function to honour and celebrate the best artists in town, was held recently.

Many cine artists received recognition for their hard work and talent, and listed among them was the late serial actress VJ Chithra.

The actress committed suicide in December last year, and her debut Kollywood movie 'Calls' just hit the theatres a few weeks ago.

Chittu who became famous via the 'Pandian Stores' serial was named as the 'Most Celebrated Actress in Television' and her parents received the award from popular TV personality Laksmi Ramakrishnan on behalf of Chittu.
