Pandian Stores is a Vijay TV serial that has been dubbed into at least 6 Indian languages because of its popularity. One of the main reasons behind the success of the serial is the family-centric themes and the Kathir-Mullai pair who at first hated each other and eventually fell in love.

The TV stars who played Kathir and Mullai are Kumaran and VJ Chitra. In December 2020, VJ Chitra was found dead by suicide at a hotel near Chennai. Her role has since been replaced by Kaavya Arivumani.

In the initial days of Chitra's shocking death, Kumaran was said to leave the show. But he denied the rumors and stayed on the serial. To the viewers' shock, it was Vaishali Thaniga who played Aishwarya in the serial who was replaced with a new actress.

There hasn't been any official statement from the TV channel as to why Vaishali was replaced. The actress, however, released a video stating that she has no clue why the channel decided to drop her out of the serial. Take a look at the video:
