S. Shankar is a famous South Indian director who gave evergreen super hit movies such as 2.0, Indian, Anniyan and more.

The director's Enthiran sequel '2.0 with Rajinikanth in the lead became one of the highest-grossing Kollywood movies, gaining over Rs700 crore collection worldwide. And the director is currently working with Kamal Haasan for 'Indian 2'.

Despite working with Kollywood's leading actors such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Prabhu Deva, Arjun and Vikram, the director has yet to direct any movies with Thala Ajith in the lead.

It is said that Shankar originally cast Ajith as the lead for his famous movie 'Jeans'. However, a misunderstanding between senior producer AM Ratnam has caused the actor to opt-out of the movie, and Prashant was chosen as the hero instead.

The movie featuring famous stars such as Prashant, Aiswarya Rai. Nasser and Radhika became quite popular and it is still considered to be one of the best Kollywood movies of all time.

It was also rumoured that Shankar wanted to cast Ajith in the sequel of Mudhalvan in 2017. However, the project didn't materialize.

Guess we gave to wait to see if the duo will be joining hands soon.
