Sai Pallavi broke into the film industry and caught everyone's attention in the Malayalam film, "Premam". Her acting was well received and loved by the audience and she started receiving offers from other Tamil and Telugu film industries and within a short period of time, she became one of the most sought after heroines.

Shortly after her acting debut, she started acting in Telugu film "Fidaa" and Tamil film "Maari 2". Once again, her performance was well received by critics and the audience because she is a good actress.

All was looking bright and hopeful for the star and the next step in her career naturally would have been to receive offers to act in big-budget films featuring top stars. However, that hasn't been happening for her. And the big question is why not?

According to industry experts, Sai Pallavi has a girl-next-door image that directors are just not interested in. In big-budget films, most of the directors, especially in Tollywood and Kollywood, want to rope in heroines who are glamourous which Pallavi lacks badly. Moreover, she is also not interested in doing glamorous roles and is more on being a character actor with meatier roles.

It was reported recently that Sai Pallavi had rejected an offer to star in a film along with Mahesh Babu. According to the sources close to the actress, Pallavi wasn't interested in the role because she felt the character wasn't developed enough and just wasn't that interesting. Sounds like she is dedicated in being a serious actress and not just chasing box office success. You've got to respect a woman like that...

Sai Pallavi is currently busy working on "Virata Parvam 1992". The film stars Rana Daggubati in the lead role and her role was said to be a very challenging one which was the reason she took it in the first place.

The shooting of the film began on 15 June and the first schedule of the movie was just wrapped up and they will soon begin on the second schedule which is expected to be a long one.
