Rajinikanth is a legendary actor who recently pulls out from his long term plan of becoming a politician.

The actor who hinted at his political entry last year with the saying 'it's now or never', made an announcement about not becoming a politician after falling sick recently.

In the 90s, Rajinikanth was approached by director Shankar to play the lead role in Mudhalvan, a superhit political movie.

However, it was said that Rajinikanth refused to play the movie as he was supporting the ruling Tamil Nadu government at that time, and unable to play a role that condemns the government itself.

Following that, Sankar approached Vijay for the role before directing the hit movie with Arjun in the lead.
