Actor Simbu made a massive comeback with 'Maanaadu' that has become one of his biggest hits. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi, the timeloop flick stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, S.J. Suryah, Y. Gee Mahendra, and SAC.

After 25 days of successfully running in the theatres, the Maanaadu team decided to hold a success meet at Chennai. However, the star of the film Simbu was absent. The actor was reportedly busy filming 'Vendhu Thanidhadhu Kaadu,' directed by Gautham Menon at Royapuram, Chennai.

According to reports, Simbu requested a poster display announcing that 'Maanaadu' had collected Rs. 108 Crores, but was denied by producer Suresh Kamatchi. The collection amount was lesser and the producer wanted to avoid getting in trouble with the income tax department.

It's also said that things are strained between the producer and actor since Simbu's father T. Rajendrar filed a case asking for a share in the satellite and digital rights of the film.
