Iz Emir, at just 12 years old, has made history by becoming the youngest student to ever enrol at Universiti Malaya since its establishment in 1962. The prodigious young scholar, whose full name is Izz Imil Shahrom, is set to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the prestigious university.

According to a Facebook post by academician Fatimah Kari, Izz Imil's academic journey began when he entered Form One at the Permata Pintar programme at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Remarkably, he completed his O-Levels at the age of eight and his A-Levels at just 11.

Universiti Malaya Vice-Chancellor, Noor Azuan Abu Osman, called for Izz Imil to be given the necessary space and privacy to focus on his studies and adapt to university life. "This is crucial to ensure he can undergo proper physiological development while pursuing his education successfully," he said in a statement.

Izz Imil's mother, Ilyah Abdul Aziz, shared that her son had completed Form 4-level Mathematics and Chemistry at the age of five. She also revealed that her son, who has mild autism and hyperlexia, showed a profound interest in numbers from the age of three, despite facing challenges in speech development.

Best wishes, lil one!
