Wouldn't it be amazing to travel around the world and explore different cultures, do window shopping, and taste the unique and bizarre food of different places? Imagine the joy of traveling with your family, friends, or partner and how it can help you destress and relax from your everyday worries.

Want to score those budget-friendly fares for your next adventure? Look no further because Malaysian traveller, Muhammad Dayan, has got you covered. In a recent viral Facebook post, he shared his top tips for snagging cheap flight tickets.

1. Midweek ticket deals - book your tickets on Tuesday & Wednesday

Airlines have their booking systems set up so that details of flight ticket promotions come out at 7 PM on Tuesdays, making it the perfect time to survey the best rates and book your ticket.

2. Use Flight Comparison Websites: Utilize flight comparison websites such as:

- Skyscanner
- Kayak
- Google Flights
- Hopper
- AirAsia & Mas Airlines apps promotions

These platforms allow you to search for the best deals across various airlines, helping you find the most affordable options. You can also set up price alerts to receive notifications when ticket prices drop.

3. Book in Advance

According to Dayan's experience, booking at least 21 days before your departure gives you the best chance of getting a good price. Why, you ask? Well, airlines typically set aside a limited number of cheaper seats for each flight, often for the first 20 or so passengers. As more people book, the prices gradually increase.

4. Consider Land at Smaller Airports

Instead of focusing solely on major airports, consider looking for flights from alternative airports near your destination. For example, in Malaysia, besides Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), you can check flights from other airports like Penang International Airport (PEN) or Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI). Sometimes, flying to or from a smaller airport can lead to cheaper fares.

5. Choose less busy flying days

Plan wisely and opt for a Tuesday or Wednesday flight. These days are considered "less busy" for airlines and airports, meaning cheaper flights and a more pleasant travel experience.

6. Find for the best deal on international flights

Most airlines offer their 'Best Deal' about 11 to 12 weeks in advance, so keep a close eye on those ticket prices during this period!

7. Clear your browser's 'Cookies'

Did you know that clearing your cookies can save you money on airline tickets? It's true! Many people are unaware that by simply clearing the cookies on their laptop, smartphone, and PC, they can avoid paying higher prices for flights. How does this work? Well, when you visit an airline's website, their booking system tracks your visits through cookies. If you have visited the site multiple times within 30 days, the system may assume you are a frequent visitor and set the same, or even higher, price for your ticket. Don't fall into this trap! Make it a habit to clear your cookies on your internet browser before booking a flight. And if you're not sure how to do it, just ask Mr. Google!

Remember that finding cheap flight tickets requires a combination of research, flexibility, and timing. By employing these strategies, you increase your chances of finding affordable flights for your travels within Malaysia.
