Rumours about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s marriage have recently circulated online, but fresh news suggests an exciting new chapter may be unfolding for the couple, this time on screen. Renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam is reportedly planning a new Hindi film, with the iconic “Guru” duo, Abhishek and Aishwarya, in mind.

In 2007, Ratnam’s film Guru brought Abhishek and Aishwarya together on screen just before their real-life marriage, showcasing an on-screen chemistry that captivated audiences. Ratnam later reunited them in Raavan, and, according to a report by Times Now, he has finally found a compelling story to bring them back together for a third collaboration.

This would mark Abhishek’s fourth film with Ratnam, who first directed him in Yuva. Reflecting on his long-standing connection with the director, Abhishek shared in an interview with Zoom, “When he first came to our home to sign me for Yuva, I thought he was there to sign Pa (father Amitabh Bachchan). I was beyond ecstatic to learn he wanted me. Any actor would give a limb to work with Mani. I take great pride that he found me worthy of his cinema three times so far – and that too without losing any limbs!"

Despite recent whispers of trouble in their marriage, Abhishek and Aishwarya have encountered similar rumours in the past. In 2014, similar claims surfaced, which Abhishek lightheartedly dismissed with a tweet: “Ok. So I believe I’m getting divorced. Thanks for letting me know! Will you let me know when I’m getting remarried too?”

With their powerful on-screen presence and loyal fanbase, a reunion under Mani Ratnam’s direction could be an iconic moment for Abhishek and Aishwarya, rekindling the magic they’ve created in their past films and bringing their fans a long-awaited cinematic experience.
