In a candid conversation on the talk show Front Row with Anupama Chopra on the Film Companion platform, actor Ajith Kumar broke his silence on the recent Karur rally stampede. Although the tragic incident took place during a gathering for actor-politician Vijay, Ajith emphasised that the responsibility should not fall on one individual alone.

“There is so much happening in Tamil Nadu because of the stampede. That individual is not responsible. We are all responsible, including the media and myself. It’s a collective failure. We’ve become so obsessed with crowds, and it projects the entire film industry in a bad light,” Ajith said.

He reflected on the growing phenomenon of massive crowds at celebrity events and cautioned that unrestrained fan enthusiasm can tarnish the image of the entire Tamil film industry.

During the exclusive interview, Ajith also addressed several misconceptions about his life beyond cinema. He clarified reports surrounding his racing accidents, revealing that he has undergone 29 surgeries, most of them resulting from on-set stunts rather than racing incidents. Despite these challenges, he shared his optimistic outlook on life in overcoming obstacles.

The actor’s open and introspective remarks have struck a chord with fans, offering a rare glimpse into his personal experiences and grounded philosophy. The interview also builds anticipation for his much-awaited film, AK64, with filming expected to commence soon and an official announcement scheduled for January 2026.
