We have all heard about the many benefits of coconut oil.

You can use it for almost everything, as a skin care, for cooking and to fight against a host of infections and diseases. Since coconut oil has such powerful moisturizing abilities, it completely makes sense to use it as a beauty product.

Here, Astro Ulagam lists some of the ways coconut oil can be used to enhance your beauty!

Makeup remover

Did you know that coconut oil is a great make up remover?

Just pour some coconut oil onto a cotton pad and gently rub over your skin especially around the area of your eyes. It not only removes the most stubborn make up but also keeps your eyes hydrated and your skin moisturized.

Natural Lip Scrub

Dry and chapped lips do not stand a chance against this ultra-hydrating oil.

Mix together ½ tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply this scrub on your lips thrice a week in a circular motion for about 1-2 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Under-eye Cream

The skin below your eyes is delicate and thin, making it prone to puffiness and dark circles. Put some coconut oil underneath your eyes before going to sleep. It is a super-natural tool that will keep your eyes hydrated.

Mouthwash

The ancient Ayurvedic treatment of oil pulling suggests you to rinse your mouth with coconut oil on an empty stomach every morning. This 15 minutes action is believed to remove toxins from your body, prevents bad breath and treating sore gums.

Deodorant

Most deodorants are said to be made with toxin ingredients which are hazardous to our health.

Coconut oil is a wonderful natural alternative that can be used as a deodorant. It is known to kill yeast, fungi and bacteria. Pour some of this wonder oil onto a cotton pad and rub your underarms. Add a little lavender or lemon essential oil for an extra deodorizing effect!
