While the world celebrates Easter Sunday today, a tragedy strikes at Sri Lanka with bomb blasts at several churches and hotels. At least 290 people have been killed with over 560 injured from the explosion, CNN reports.

The bomb blasts took place at six places; churches in Kochchikade, Negombo and Batticaloa and the Shangri La, Cinnamon Grand and Kingsbury hotels in Colombo.

Many local news media platforms speculate that the death toll could be higher. A source from the hospital in Batticaloa told BBC that 'the death toll there alone could be 27'.

The social media is flooding with the disturbing images of the ruins and deaths from the explosions. Until now, no one has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast attacks.

On the other hand, actress Radhika shared a tweet expressing her shock at the bomb blasts as she just left one of the hotels Cinnamon Grand before the explosion. Here's the tweet:

Another news media reported that she and her family have been confirmed to be safe and sound. Everyone has left the premise before the explosion happened.
