Ascendance, a Malaysian start-up and youth organization led by Gen Z members, has been recognized with the "Best Entrepreneurship Education Project" award at the 2023 Money Awareness & Inclusion Awards (MAIA). The award was presented to Harsha Ravindran, the CEO of Ascendance, by Alistair Thompson, the Chairman of Manan Trust.
The winning project, 'TheTeenageEntrepreneur.com,' is an online platform developed by Ascendance. It aims to provide Gen Z individuals with opportunities to explore entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The platform offers workshops, talk shows, and mentorship sessions featuring executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals from various parts of the world. With over 6,000 students from Malaysia already enrolled on the platform, TheTeenageEntrepreneur.com organized more than 200 live virtual events in the previous year.
It's worth noting that the platform is run by Gen Z members for Gen Z members, and it caters to participants as young as 8 years old. Mahalaxmi Ganesan (20), Abinayasree Meyappan (19), and Vinishyaa Sugumar (21) are the leaders spearheading this initiative within Ascendance.
This recognition highlights the impact and success of Ascendance's efforts in promoting entrepreneurship education among young individuals, fostering financial literacy, and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs in Malaysia.
