Astro is proud to share that it has received two prestigious accolades at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2025, held on 28 May 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Singapore. The two awards won by Astro were for "Cloud-Playout Migration – Malaysia" and "Audio Description – Malaysia" for Astro Studios. These honours reflect Astro’s ongoing commitment to innovation in content delivery, accessibility, and broadcasting excellence.

The groundbreaking use of Audio Description (AD) in Malaysia earned the drama “Dari Mata Turun Ke Hati” the Audio Description – Malaysia award. As the first local series with AD innovations created specifically for visually impaired audiences, this romantic comedy marks a significant step towards greater inclusivity and accessibility in Malaysian content.

In addition to this milestone, Astro Studios continues to power the creative engine behind Astro’s productions. Offering a comprehensive suite of services for storytellers, producers, and directors, the studio is equipped with cutting-edge technologies including XR (Extended Reality) virtual production powered by Unreal Engine, IP-video solutions for high-quality remote broadcast productions, as well as audio-visual post-production for cinema, broadcast and streaming in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Concurrently, Astro’s cloud-playout migration is a major leap in modernising its broadcast operations. By transitioning to a cloud-based system, Astro has enhanced its agility, scalability, and operational resilience to solidify its position as a leader in regional broadcasting innovation.

This year’s Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards celebrated outstanding broadcasting efforts across the Asia-Pacific region, recognising innovations that enhance viewer experiences. Winners were chosen by a panel of experts from the media, technology, and communications industries. Astro extends its heartfelt congratulations and thanks to all its team members who contributed to these achievements.
