Following the discovery of two bodies in a drain behind an abandoned building, a third body with similar neck slash wounds was found at Leman Beach in Kedah. The latest victim, a 2-year-old child, is believed to be the son of the suspect who allegedly murdered his wife and 10-year-old daughter—whose bodies were found in the drain.

The suspect, identified as a homeless individual of Rohingya ethnicity, was taken into custody after testing positive for methamphetamine. During a media conference on August 20, Kedah Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah revealed that the suspect and his family had been living in the abandoned building for approximately one week. It is suspected that the suspect was under significant family pressure and, given his drug use, authorities are not ruling out the possibility of domestic violence.

The suspect has three children:
- A 10-year-old daughter, whose body was found in the drain.
- A 2-year-old son, whose body was discovered on the beach.
- A 5-year-old son, who was found alive with the suspect at the time of his arrest.

The body of the 2-year-old was reportedly dumped into a large drain on Jalan Pegawai, approximately 2 kilometers from the initial crime scene, before drifting into the sea. The police have since recovered the murder weapon.

A witness claimed to have seen the suspect and his 5-year-old son near the drain, and noted that it appeared as if they were disposing of something.

The suspect was arrested on the night of August 10 at a mosque and is currently being held in remand until August 26. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
