Chiyaan Vikram, known for his dedication to physically demanding roles, recently discussed the extreme transformations he has undergone for his films. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Vikram revealed some of the dire consequences of these changes. Reflecting on his experience while filming the 2001 movie Kasi, he shared, "When I did Kaasi, I couldn't see for two to three months because I had my eyelids up all the time. I was at risk of developing a squint."

Vikram also spoke about his intense weight loss for the 2015 action-romance flick 'I', in which he starred alongside Amy Jackson. He originally intended to lose 34 kg, dropping from 86 kg to 50 kg. However, he had to stop at 52 kg due to health concerns. "The doctor warned me that these extreme changes could lead to organ failure. He advised, ‘Go easy; let's not get too excited about this because I can see the parameters changing, and if a major organ fails, we might not be able to revive you,'" Vikram recounted.

Despite these physical challenges, Vikram remains committed to roles that require exceptional dedication. His latest film, Thangalaan, explores the struggles of indigenous tribes during the British colonial era, focusing on the impact of mining activities. The film, which features a cast including Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Pasupathy, and Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone, was released on August 15.

While Thangalaan received mixed reviews from critics, it achieved moderate success at the box office, reinforcing Vikram's reputation as an actor unafraid to push his limits for the sake of his passion.
