Countries Offering e-Visa or Online Visa Application for Malaysian Passport Holders

Malaysian passport holders can apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) or complete an online visa application before travelling to the following countries:

How to Apply for an e-Visa (General Guide)

1. Visit the official government e-Visa portal of the destination country.
 

Always use authorised websites to avoid scams.

2. Register or log in.
 

Create an account using your email address and verify it via One-Time Password (OTP), if required.

3. Start a new application.
 

Select “Apply New” and choose the purpose of travel, such as tourism, business, or social visit.

4. Fill in the application form.
 

Enter personal details, passport information, and travel details such as arrival date and accommodation address.

5. Upload required documents.

Commonly required documents include:

  • Passport biodata page (clear scan)
  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • Flight itinerary or return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Financial support proof (if required)

6. Review and submit the application.

Double-check all information to avoid delays or rejection.

7. Pay the visa fee online.

Payment is usually made using a credit or debit card. Some countries offer free or discounted visas for Malaysians.

8. Wait for approval.

Processing times vary. Once approved, the e-Visa or Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will be sent via email.

9. Print or save the e-Visa.

Keep a digital and printed copy to present upon arrival.

 

Malaysians Applying for an Indian e-Visa

1. Visit the official Indian e-Visa website: indianvisaonline.gov.in
2. Complete the online application form with personal, passport, and travel details.
3. Upload a recent photo and passport biodata page.
4. Pay the visa fee (Malaysians are eligible for a free e-Tourist visa until December 2026).
5. Receive the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) by email.
