Selangor Deputy Police Chief YDH Dato' Sasikala Devi Subramaniam will now take over the helm as Selangor Police Chief, effective Friday (30th Dec).

She took over the task from outgoing Selangor Police Chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed who would retire on Monday (2nd Jan 2023).



The intrepid woman who is well known for her bold and brave action in leading the police raid team on former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s home over the 1MDB inquiry was promoted to Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) in 2022. She has left no stone unturned to put the criminals behind the bar.

Indeed a proud moment for all the Malaysian Indians when Dato' Sasikala made the notion of women empowerment shine even brighter and higher by becoming - the first senior female officer who holds the rank of Deputy Director of the Commercial Crime Department at Bukit Aman and Chief Assistant Director of Criminal Investigation and Finance at the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department.

Having said that, she has ample experience in the field of international liaison, legal advocacy, prosecution, and investigation. She proves herself and breaks various stereotypes, mainly in roles that leave a scope of zero error. Besides having a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, she also has an MBA, a Bachelor’s degree in Jurisprudence, and a Certificate in Legal Practice.

For the past 32 years, she has made a significant contribution to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), Crime Investigation Department (CID), and Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID).
