The founder and principal of Laasya Arts Academy, Dr. Guruvayur Usha Dorai has received an Honorary Doctorate award and title from the Hindustan Art & Music Society in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Indian Classical dance along with social service through her noble gesture.

Speaking about the prominent academy, Laasya Arts Academy is solely specialized in Sangeetham, Bharata Natyam, Veena, and Nattuvangam. Besides conducting 51 dance and music arrangements as well as producing various dance productions to date, they have also received accolades both in Malaysia and abroad.

Preserving and promoting ancient classical music and dance forms of India in this era seems to be surreal, thanks to the gem, Dr Guruvayur Usha Dorai.

Having said that, Laasya Arts Academy has been staged in 6 cities in India for Cultural Relations and received a standing ovation at the International Ramayana Festival.
