In an effort to discipline her 11-year-old son, a Malaysian mother took an unconventional approach by bringing him to the police station after learning he had repeatedly lied about completing his homework.
Nor Syuhada Mohd Zahri, 42, shared her experience on TikTok, revealing how she discovered the truth through her son’s teacher despite his constant assurances that his homework was done.
"I was shocked when I learned that my son had not done his homework, even though he kept telling me he had," said Nor Syuhada, who is also a teacher. Frustrated by his dishonesty, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
She brought her youngest son to the nearest police station to instill some discipline. Fortunately, the policeman on duty was understanding and played along to help the mother.
"The policeman pretended to question my son and even cautioned him that he could be put in the lock-up if he continued to neglect his homework," she explained.
The stern talk left an impact on the boy, who became remorseful, cried, and asked for his mother’s forgiveness.
Since the incident, the boy’s behavior has improved significantly. "He has been completing his homework on time and promised not to repeat his mistake," Nor Syuhada said.
She expressed gratitude to the police for their cooperation and understanding, noting that their support had a positive effect on her son.
"This experience has taught my son an important lesson, and I’m thankful for the help," she added.
