Those who watched ‘Gully Boy’, would have definitely Googled ‘Siddhant Chaturvedi’ to learn more about the guy who played MC Sher, Ranveer Singh’s character's mentor in the movie. Chaturvedi was so convincing in the movie that most of us would have assumed he’s a rapper in real life. But here's the true story of how he landed his groundbreaking role in “Gully Boy”.

In an interview with Firstpost, the first-time actor recalled being approached by director Zoya Akhtar, who urged him to audition for the film.

"I was dancing on 'Mirchi Lagi Toh Mein Kya Karu' when Zoya saw me for the first time. Then 'Gallan Goodiyan’ from Dil Dhadakne Do started playing and I danced with her.

"Immediately after that, she was like, 'Listen! who are you? I want you to audition for this.'

"I was like 'Yeah', and that’s how I bagged the audition."

The 25-year-old actor studied to become a chartered accountant like his father, but left it midway to pursue a career in Bollywood. He says he started trying his luck in showbiz at the age of 19.

“I struggled for six years and there were many rejections and low points along the way. I started from the bottom. But I always had this raging ambition to go out there and prove myself with that one perfect opportunity."

“I joined the (Gully Boys) film just 22 days before the shooting, so it was not like I had a rap background, nothing. I knew that this was a grand film and I had to give my all to the role. But I was also conscious that just because it is a big opportunity, I should not overdo it. All I wanted was some respect and appreciation for the role, but what I have got is beyond my expectations,” he says.

Siddhant have been Bollywood's perfect next 'Most Eligible Bachelor', but unfortunarely for ladies everywhere, the heartthrob is off the market.

Asked about his relationship status in an interview with BollywoodLife, the actor revealed that he is seeing somebody.

“She is from the industry, but not an actress,” he said, but refused to reveal the name of his lady love.

Chaturvedi's revelation may have just broken many hearts out there!

But the star's dashing good looks aren't the only thing that has put him on the radar: the whole of Bollywood is impressed with his acting chops.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has sent his compliments to the actor by sending flowers and a special note praising his performance in Gully Boy, making it truly a dream debut for the first-time actor.
