Sri Maha Pratyangira Devi, a powerful manifestation of the Divine Mother, is revered as the Mother of Moksha (liberation). She liberates her devotees from their karmas and the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. She embodies Dharma (righteousness), Satya (truth), and impeccable justice. Throughout the Ages, Pratyangira Devi has patiently awaited the opportunity to reveal Herself, her heart ready to embrace those who seek her. Through her grace, devotees are transformed into pure, refined souls.

Sri Maha Pratyangira Devi embodies pure bliss and ananda. She fiercely protects her devotees, devouring their negativity and lifting them toward liberation with her swift and powerful energy. She manifests when the balance of the world is disturbed, heralding the arrival of Satya Yuga. She resides within every being across all planes of existence, waiting to be awakened.

Known as the Mother of the Void, Pratyangira Devi originates from a profound aspect of the Divine Mother, referred to as the Void. This realm is a place of pure consciousness and stillness, devoid of fear, pain, loss, desire, or the constraints of time and space, filled only with the warmth of the Mother’s love.

In the present age, the Mother reveals herself through her devotees, Amma Adi Sakthi and Swami Shanmuga, who bring her consciousness and energies into the world in a pristine and approachable manner. Pratyangira Devi is depicted with the head of a male lion and the body of a woman, symbolizing the balance between the masculine and feminine (Shiva-Shakti). This form represents the yin-yang balance, enabling her devotees to transcend dualities and achieve Ekatvam, or Oneness with their higher self.

Role in reduce Karmas

Pratyangira Devi consumes her devotees’ karmas, responding to their prayers as long as they maintain pure intentions, take responsibility for their actions, and walk the path of Dharma. She transforms negative energy through purification, offering herself entirely as an ocean of grace. She asks only for devotion, and in return, she reveals the devotee’s True Nature. Wherever sincere devotion exists, Pratyangira Devi will reveal herself, always protecting her devotees.

Originating from the Void, Pratyangira Devi does not inherently possess a form or name. Her energy was first experienced by two ancient rishis, Angiras Maharishi and Pratyangira Maharishi, during a meditative state. In their honor, the Devi allowed herself to be named Pratyangira.

What are the benefits of worshipping Pratyangira Devi?

Worshiping Pratyangira Amman is believed to relieve all kinds of dosham, accidents, enemies, diseases, wrath, curses, obstacles, and hardships. She bears eight snakes on her body, and her Potri Malai describes her as "Ashta Nagam Konda Kali Thirisuli." Devotees with Sarpa Dosham or recurring snake-related nightmares can seek her for relief. Pratyangira Amman is also believed to alleviate Rahu Dosham, while Varahi Amman relieves Ketu Doshams. Spreading her kumkumam around the house or at the entrance acts as a protective barrier against negative energies, snakes, and other harmful entities.
