Ever since wedding pictures of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala surfaced online, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been trending on social media, with fans expressing their support and sending her love. Many fans and followers have described it as a tough time for Samantha, resulting in a wave of online solidarity.

The internet has also seen the resurfacing of several old videos and interviews of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya following the news of his wedding. One such video shows Samantha reflecting on their separation and the challenges she faced, particularly during the period when she was offered the now-iconic song Oo Antava.

In an interview with Miss Malini, Samantha opened up about the criticism she faced after her divorce was announced. “I was offered Oo Antava in the middle of the separation. The announcement came, and every friend, well-wisher, and my family said, ‘You should sit at home. Don’t do an item song right after announcing your separation,’” she recalled.

Despite the pressure, Samantha decided to take the role, addressing her stance on facing public scrutiny. “I just thought, ‘Why should I hide?’ I didn’t do anything wrong. I gave my marriage 100%, and it didn’t work out. I wasn’t going to beat myself up or feel guilty for something I didn’t do,” she stated. Samantha added that she chose not to wait for the trolling, abuse, or hate to subside before resuming her work, asserting that she had nothing to apologize for.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, who announced their divorce in October 2021 after four years of marriage, have been at the centre of speculation. Fans have alleged that Naga Chaitanya’s relationship with Sobhita began before his divorce, as the two were first spotted together in 2022.

Despite everything, Sam carried herself with such poise and dignity. She didn't let anyone bring her down and she didn't let the weight of a failing relationship crush her. Instead, she rose above it all and showed us that we are more than capable of carrying ourselves with grace, even in the toughest of times. Cheers to Sam and all the women out there who refuse to be defined by societal expectations. You go, SAM!
