The trailer for the first installment of the anticipated Kalki Cinematic Universe has generated unprecedented excitement. Among the many highlights of the Kalki 2898 AD trailer, the brief appearance of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan as the villainous Kali has captivated audiences, alongside Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal of Ashwaththama.
Kalki 2898 AD is set to chronicle events from the Mahabharata era, specifically around 3102 BC. In an interview with Deadline, director Nag Ashwin clarified that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He further explained, "We can perceive it as deeply religious or as the story of someone born with immense power who, through their journey, finds a mentor."
Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled for release on June 27 and will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and English.
