Indeed, a remarkable feat for the karate champ as she received royal recognition, Bintang Kecemerlangan Sukan Selangor (BKS) from Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Shahmalarani who is currently pursuing her Master’s in Actuarial Science, has recently represented Malaysia in First K1 Series and delivered the FIRST gold medal for our beloved homeland after defending her opponent Annisa Nur Anggraini from Indonesia in the final of the women’s Kumite under-50 kg.

The 24-year-old young lass brought home a Gold medal on her debut on the international stage, Hanoi SEA Games 2021 in Vietnam, and continuously showcased jaw-dropping performances by leaving the entire Malaysian spellbound. She continues to win various championships, including the 2022 ASEAN University Games, the Finnish Open, and K1 Series A Indonesia.

Other athletes who received the BKS, which does not carry any title, were karate exponents Sharmendran Raghonathan and golfer Marcus Lim Pang Chuen, who both won gold medals in the 2022 SEA Games as well.

Besides knowing Shahm as a Karate exponent, she is also prominently known as an author of a Mathematics book bearing the title, ‘Maths Mastery Tools’. The book consists of all the mathematical formulas that SPM students would need to equip themselves for their exams. Being the best among the rest in both fields, this is certainly an inspiration for the younger generation to idolize her in every way.

With the same spirit and zeal, you shall always make us proud.
