Kala Mandhir Dance Academy (KMDA) adds another feather to Bharatanatyam’s cap, and we couldn’t be more proud of their recent achievement.

They achieved great success in this pioneering effort, and their contributions were recognised by His Majesty the Sultan of Kedah and His Majesty Tuanku Sultanah Maliha Binti Late Tengku Ariff was honoured for emerging first place in the International Cultural Conclave 2022 Competition Festival. The prestigious competition was held from Aug 13th to 16th at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.

Having said that, the competition saw 174 teams participating from 10 countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and India. Academy founder and dance teacher Sujatha Kumar are among the main pillars of the dance academy to date. It’s very overwhelming to see constant support from Malaysians towards the students who show much love for their passion and also putting our homeland on the world map.

Established in the year 1994, KMDA is a dance Academy that specialises in the Indian Classical Dance Bharatanatyam. From expanding a few other centers in various places in Kulim, Kedah, and Bukit Mertajam, Penang, KMDA has been a prominent name that needs no introduction among our Indian community.

It’s always great to see lights shining on our talents / students at the national and international platform. Congratulations for making the nation proud!
