Their paths crossed during Luxon’s first diplomatic visit to Malaysia since assuming office in November 2023. In a heartfelt video shared on his social media accounts, Khairul revealed that he had the incredible opportunity to introduce the Prime Minister to some beloved Malaysian breakfast staples. With a warm smile, he guided Luxon through the flavors of ‘nasi lemak’, ‘roti jala’, and ‘teh tarik’.

Their conversation extended beyond food, covering topics such as tourism exchange, the trade of halal meat and dairy, nature preservation, and the potential for Malaysian small and medium enterprises to expand into New Zealand.

Reflecting on this milestone, Khairul offered a piece of advice that resonated deeply with his online followers: “Eight years ago, I filmed my first cooking video while sitting on the floor. Today, I have the privilege of sitting next to the Prime Minister of a renowned nation. Keep hustling, you will be amazed at where life can take you.”
Meanwhile, social media erupted with admiration for Khairul’s achievement. On Instagram, @nijammm expressed, “I swear you are on another level. I am so speechless,” while @nynaazlina commented, “Congratulations, a true hero. Keep inspiring, Aming! Kudos.”

On TikTok, @muzammil_jamaludin echoed the sentiment, “No wonder Tun M (Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad) only follows him (Khairul) on TikTok; he is on another level.” Fellow influencer @weechuanchin, known as Abe Wee, added, “This is definitely another level. Congratulations, 'anak Malaysia'. Proud of you! Fly high, KA.”
