What travellers need to know in light of escalating geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, aviation authorities have temporarily suspended operations at 27 airports across northern, western, and central India until 5:29 AM on Saturday, May 10.

This precautionary measure has led to widespread travel disruptions, with over 430 domestic flights cancelled, approximately 3% of India's scheduled air traffic. Pakistan has also grounded over 147 flights, accounting for nearly 17% of its daily air operations. As a result, travellers are strongly advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight status before heading to the airport.

Akasa Air: Passengers must carry valid government-issued photo ID and adhere to the 7kg cabin baggage limit. Secondary security checks are mandatory at boarding gates.

IndiGo: Additional time should be allotted for security clearances and formalities across all airports. All travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, stay informed via official airline communication channels, and remain patient amid necessary security measures.
