The local entertainment industry mourns the loss of Sivakumar Jayabalan, a beloved actor, singer, and television host, who was tragically found deceased alongside his mother at a condominium in Taman Desa Petaling, Cheras, on Friday.
According to Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan, initial investigations reported that both Sivakumar, aged 48, and his 76-year-old mother may have fallen from the 11th floor of the building. The incident occurred around 12.35 PM, and while no criminal elements have been found at this stage, authorities are continuing investigations from all possible angles, Awani reported.
Police have urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Sivakumar first captured the hearts of many through his soulful performances in the reality singing competition Astro Paadal Thiran in 2006. His talent and charisma later opened doors for him as a host on various platforms, including Astro Go Shop, where he continued to connect with audiences through local dramas.
His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of fans, colleagues, and the local arts community. Sivakumar will be remembered not only for his talent, but for the joy he brought to countless lives through his music, screen presence, and heartfelt connection with the people.
