For most children, school is a place where friendships are formed and cherished memories are made, especially through shared experiences in school activities. However, for one young boy, the joy of participating in sports had always been out of reach due to his physical limitations.

That changed when his teacher, with a heart full of compassion, decided that no student should feel left out. In a touching display of inclusivity, Teacher Fairus went the extra mile, quite literally; by pushing his student in a wheelchair during the school’s cross-country run, ensuring he could experience the thrill of the race just like his peers.

A video shared by the boy’s mother, Adeela Syakila, captured the deeply emotional moment. As she watched her son, Adam, beam with happiness while being pushed by his teacher, she expressed profound gratitude:

"This is the day Adam had waited for his whole life—his first experience. He had never joined any sports event before, only watching from the sidelines. Thank you, Teacher Fairus, for your sacrifice in giving Adam this chance."

The heartfelt video, recorded in Padang Terap, Kedah, quickly went viral, amassing over 300,000 views on TikTok. Netizens flooded the comments with appreciation for Teacher Fairus’ selfless act, with one user, a former schoolmate, affirming that he had always been a thoughtful and kind-hearted individual.

One comment beautifully summed up the collective admiration for him:

"May the traffic light always be green for you, may your wallet always be filled with RM50 notes, may you always find a shaded parking spot, be loved by all, and may every task you take on be eased."

In a world that often races ahead, this teacher chose to slow down and run alongside a student who simply wished to belong.
