At the prestigious Southeast Asian International English Language Olympiad held at the renowned Sangsang Platform in Incheon, South Korea, an 11-year-old student from Palaniswami Kumaran Tamil School in Sungai Petani, Kedah, has brought immense pride to Malaysia. Mahaambigai, the young trailblazer, clinched a bronze medal, showcasing exceptional command over the English language.

Organised by the Global League of Winners (GLOW), the Olympiad aims to nurture English proficiency and foster cultural exchange among young learners. Thousands of students from across Southeast Asia including the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia competed in the Olympiad.

Mahaambigai stood out not only for being the only Tamil school student from Malaysia to successfully pass the rigorous exam but also for her impressive skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling accuracy, grammar, and essay writing.

Adding to this celebration of excellence, several Indian students from Malaysian secondary schools also represented the nation and emerged victorious:

This achievement not only marks a personal victory for these students but also serves as an inspiring reminder that language and learning have the power to bridge communities and uplift young minds toward a brighter future.
