Malaysian preschool teacher Neermala Doraisamy has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to education, earning the prestigious Best Preschool Teacher Award at the Asia Education Awards 2024.
With 19 years of dedicated service in the education field, Neermala, 43, currently teaches at SJKT Lurah Bilut in Pahang. The award was presented at the Asia Education Conclave (AEC) in Bangkok, Thailand, an event that celebrates exceptional educators from around the globe.
Expressing her joy and gratitude, Neermala shared, “All glory to God. I am thankful for all the blessings and guidance I’ve received. This recognition is a testament to the support and encouragement I’ve had throughout my journey.”
She extended her heartfelt thanks to her husband, Mr. Youva Raj, her family, the Ministry of Education in Malaysia, the Pahang State Education Department, the District Education Office, her colleagues, and her students. “This achievement reflects the collective effort of everyone who is committed to advancing children’s education,” she added.
Neermala emphasized her teaching philosophy, rooted in the National Standard Preschool Curriculum, and the importance of collaboration in achieving success. “Education is the key to success,” she remarked, reiterating her dedication to shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning.
