In a momentous event held in Tamil Nadu, India, six pupils from Malaysia received commendation awards during the 143rd birthday celebration of the renowned Indian poet and independence activist Mahakavi Subramania Bharati.

Prishvina Jeyaraja, 12, and her brother Seshvin, 9, both students of SJK (T) Castlefield in Puchong, Selangor, were among the distinguished awardees. Their achievements were celebrated for their exceptional contributions and dedication to their studies and community activities.

Arish Sharma Alagendra, a 10-year-old pupil from SJK (T) Simpang Lima in Klang, and his sister, Harsavarthini Alagendra, a former pupil of the same school, were also honoured at the event. Their recognition underscores the commitment to academic excellence and cultural engagement within their family.

Sharvesvaran Yogesvaram, 12, from SJK (T) Taman Melawati in Kuala Lumpur, and Kirthika Ramalingam from SMK Raja Mahadi in Klang completed the group of commendable students. Sharvesvaran's and Kirthika's awards highlight their remarkable achievements and contributions to their respective schools and communities.

The celebration of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati’s birthday not only honoured his legacy but also provided a platform to acknowledge and encourage young talents from Malaysia, reinforcing the cultural and educational ties between India and Malaysia.
