The Malaysian women’s team achieved a historic victory by winning gold at the Indonesia Open International Kabaddi Championship, according to a report by Malaysia Nanban. Competing in Jakarta as part of the KONI Badung Sports Tourism 2024 programme, the team triumphed over three teams from Thailand and Indonesia in their category.

Additionally, the men’s team secured a silver medal in the overall event, overcoming competition from six teams, including the host Indonesia, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Singapore. The women’s team also earned a bronze medal in the overall event.

Peter, the team coach, expressed his satisfaction with the athletes' dedication and progress, celebrating Malaysia’s first-ever gold medal in international kabaddi.
