Announced by MITRA Special Task Force Chairman P. Prabakaran, the programme is specifically designed for Indian graduates holding diplomas or bachelor's degrees in IT. It provides a four-month training programme completely free of charge and includes career placement opportunities for 200 participants.
"Many local IT graduates face difficulties entering the cybersecurity field due to a lack of relevant skills. This programme bridges that gap while also offering a living allowance to participants," said Prabakaran during a press conference.
Organised in collaboration with Intellize Tech Services Sdn Bhd and EC-Council; one of the world’s leading cybersecurity certification authorities, the programme offers industry-recognised certifications, including:
- Security Specialist
- Certified Network Defender
- Certified Ethical Hacker
These certifications are valued at approximately RM17,000. Alongside technical training, participants will receive guidance in soft skills development, such as professional etiquette and resume writing, to ensure they are job ready.
To ensure commitment, participants are required to sign a contract with Intellize Tech Services. Those who fail to complete the programme must reimburse the expenses. Each training phase accommodates 25 participants, with the first batch of nearly 50 participants set to begin in February 2025.
