A woman from Idukki has volunteered to breastfeed children who lost their mothers in the Wayanad landslide. Bhavana and her husband Sajin Parakara, residents of Upputhara in Idukki, traveled to Wayanad to offer their support.

A day prior, Sajin posted a message on Facebook in response to a call for help: "If the kids need breast milk, please let me know, my wife is ready." Upon hearing the tragic news and worrying about the children left orphaned, Bhavana decided to take action. "I am a mother of two children. That is why I volunteered. When I discussed it with my husband, I got all the support," she said. Bhavana's children are aged 4 years and four months.

The couple's selfless decision has been widely praised. Bhavana was deeply moved upon learning that many infants had lost their mothers in the disaster. After posting their offer on Facebook, they received a call from Wayanad and left immediately. The couple has committed to staying in Wayanad and helping as long as needed. They are currently at the Meppadi camp in Wayanad.
