Mystery Surrounds Empire City Apartment Incident

What began as an ordinary Saturday night quickly turned into a frightening mystery for a couple living at Empire City in Damansara Perdana.

The couple claimed they heard what sounded like muffled cries and banging noises coming from a utility shaft near their apartment on the 23rd floor, leaving them deeply concerned that someone could be trapped or in danger.

According to the man, the unusual sounds first began at around 9pm on August 1. At first, he and his wife brushed them off as noises from the building's pipes before heading out for dinner.

However, when they returned home about three hours later, the sounds had reportedly become much louder.

"We heard banging noises and what sounded like a woman screaming through a gag. It even seemed like the voice responded when we asked if someone was there or needed help," he claimed in a Facebook post.

Alarmed by what they believed they had heard, the couple immediately contacted the police and informed the building's security team.

According to the resident, the emergency operator explained that there was no confirmation that an emergency was taking place, while the building's maintenance team was called in to investigate.

At around 1am, maintenance personnel inspected the utility shaft on the 23rd floor, as well as the floors above and below, by opening the access panels.

Despite the inspection, no one was found.

The maintenance team later suggested that the sounds were most likely coming from the building's pipe system. However, the couple said they remained unconvinced, claiming the mysterious noises continued even after the inspection had ended.

The resident said the last time they heard the sounds was on Sunday afternoon, adding that the experience left both him and his wife unable to sleep.

After sharing the incident online, the story quickly gained attention, with many social media users offering different theories. While some believed the sounds could be caused by echoes travelling through the building's pipes, others suggested that further inspections should be carried out to ensure no one was trapped or in distress.

Some online users even speculated about paranormal possibilities, although there is currently no evidence to support such claims.
