A helping hand can be a ray of sunshine in a cloudy world - Love Know
As the quote denotes, a Malaysian man was recently awarded a certificate of appreciation by PDRM for his heroic act of saving a Vietnamese woman from a suicide attempt in Johor.
The man, whose name was not disclosed by any media members, went out in the middle of the night to buy Rojak and never thought that he would end up saving a life before he gets back to his house.
While on his way to buy Rojak, he saw a crowd standing near the beach, and it tempted him to look at what was going on over there.
It came to his surprise when he saw a woman attempting to take her own life.
“At that point, she'd been in the water for fifteen minutes, and her head was above the water because she already swam quite far”, he said.
Afraid that the situation would deteriorate and without wasting time for the rescue team, the man took off his clothes, jumped into the water, and swam directly towards the woman.
“I kept yelling and beckoning for her to come to me, but she kept swimming away and asking me to back off. I was able to grab her by the hair, and swiftly carried her back to land,” he claimed.
He asserted that she screamed, cried, and hit him as he brought her back to the shore, pleading with him to leave her. After everything settled, he wore back his shirt and left without asking what was her reason for taking such a drastic decision.
To the MAN who saved the woman's life, the concern that you have shown towards an individual without knowing any race, religion, or gender - really needs special recognition. Thank you!
